Most children these days are very fashion conscious, and choose to wear clothes and shoes which are fashionable, and similar to those worn by famous celebrities.  Of course, this isn’t always ideal and with footwear particularly, care should be taken to ensure correct fitting for length and width, allowing room for growth.

Luckily highly fashionable shoes can be colourful and practical for both boys and girls this summer.  Children love sandals such as Crocs, and the great thing is they can be worn for playing out with their friends, the beach, or even school, if choosing a dark colour.  The colourways are vast – from hot girlie pinks, acid yellows to cool blues. Boys sandals are also a good choice for the children’s comfort.

Trainers are also considered to be high fashion and trendy!  With leading footballers such as David Beckham endorsing brands such as Adidas and Nike, children are eager to be seen sporting these shoes.  Like Crocs, trainers are practical footwear, giving comfort and style.

On the less practical side, little girls love dressing up and wearing Mum’s clothes and high heeled shoes and sandals.  These days there are lots of High Street ranges geared to young girls’ heeled shoes, as seen being worn by Suri Cruise (Tom Cruise’s daughter).

Although high-heeled shoes are elegant and stylish, they aren’t suitable for young girls’ feet as their bones are still developing, and could be harmful.  They should only be worn for special occasions.

Many high street chain stores such as Clarks and Barratts, have large ranges of fashionable and practical shoes geared exclusively to children.   Both stores have trained assistants who will carefully measure the child’s foot and shoe styles can be tried on to see how they fit.  Moreover some brands as Star-rite offer quality summer shoes for children.
