2011 was a really long year, wasn’t it? We’ve seen our fair share of crazy disasters and poorly executed decisions that should have been nixed at first thought. But none were more disastrous than some of the fashion decisions that celebrities made last year.

What’s worse than a stupid nickname and being a star on one of the worst and most destructive shows on the minds of youths today? Having a fashion sense just as terrible.

This picture was taken while she attended a press conference for the new rendition of “Jersey Shore,” which will take place in Florence, Italy. If this awful combination of leopard print and leather is showing what’s to come, I fear this world is doomed once the new season airs.

Here is one of radio’s biggest artists at the moment, and here she is wearing some sort of cloud? Or maybe it’s a swan ensemble? Nobody really knows for sure.

At the Grammy Awards, you never know which artist will win that popularity contest, but you can almost be certain that you’ll see something silly.

Well, we definitely saw something silly alright.

Kim Kardashian

It’s pretty hard to try and look good and come out looking like an 80-year-old woman, but Kim did just that. Bravo.

The red carpet can make even good outfits look bland compared to others, but when you have something as awful as this, bland would be a compliment.

Afterward, it was reported that she grabbed the early bird special, and then took a nap afterward. But not before her stories.

Christina Aguilera

She gained a little weight since the last time everyone saw her singing or doing anything in public. This isn’t a bad thing.

But when you wear clothes that barely fit when you were skinny, then you have an issue.

This mini dress would be okay if you enjoy stripping on the weekends or going to a club, but not on stage.

Yikes.

Jennifer Lopez

I’m not even sure if this counts as an outfit, but here we go.

J-Lo, seen singing on stage, was wearing some sort of sparkly, transparent outfit, which may or may not be appropriate for anyone under the age of 21. I’m not sure who thought this looked good, but he’s probably looking for a job right now.

There seems to have been so much going on in fashion that I was very confused about what to write about. So after a bit of thought I decided to blog about the one thing that every self respecting fashionista is talking about at the moment- the return of Sex and City. Everyone has been waiting with bated breath to see, not what the storyline of the new film is but rather which outfits the four lovely ladies will be wearing. I mean of course we are interested in the plot of the film but let’s be honest we are more interested in what designer clothes the ladies will be wearing. It seems that if the pictures we have seen so far are anything to go by, we will not be disappointed in the fashion stakes!

The ladies have been styled to perfection. Charlotte (Krisitn Davis) looks as sophisticated as ever in this pink ensemble, whilst Samantha (Kim Cattrall) showed off what an amazing figure she has in this little black dress. Whilst the dresses were great and suited each of the women’s alter ego’s personality and style flawlessly it was their designer shoes that really caught my eye. Each of the women wore a pair of killer heels, but I have to admit it was Carrie’s and Charlotte’s shoes that I think had the most impact.

Although the women look fab in this picture there are a few pictures circulating where they don’t look quite as glamorous! You can imagine my surprise when I was confronted with a picture of Carrie with a perm, and brace yourself, wearing a pair of flat shoes! I thought surely not, the queen of style, Ms Carrie Bradshaw would surely not wear a perm in this day and age. So I was both relieved and delighted to find out that in fact this particular look was part of a flash back sequence of when Carrie first arrived in New York. Phew!

The women have already made such impact and filming only began last week. So I can’t wait to see what they wear throughout the rest of the film, but if these pictures are anything to go by I’m sure we’re in for a treat.

Saks Fifth Avenue hosted thousands of customers at last night’s Fashion’s Night Out celebration. Customers were able to meet designers, play games with celebrities and super models and shop the latest looks for fall, all while enjoying cosmetic giveaways, mini-makeovers and expert styling advice.

In just a few hours, the store completely sold out of Fashion’s Night Out t-shirts. Sales of the t-shirts benefit the NYC Aids Fund.

Chairman and CEO Steve Sadove noted “Saks Fifth Avenue was proud to participate in the second annual Fashion’s Night Out. Thousands of customers visited our store to meet their favorite designers, see the latest fashions and have fun while shopping. Our store has always been about the excitement of fashion and this year’s Fashion’s Night Out was the perfect kick off to the fall season.”

Dannii Minogue’s new baby Ethan Edward was born the 7tyh of July in Melbourne, Australia. Kylie’s sister is uploading pictures of the baby in her Twitter account; this kid is not even a month old and is already a star!

We have recently read that Danni’s pregnancy secret has been wearing maternity spanx in red carpet events. The X factor judge has being looking amazing while pregnant, and has confessed she is a big fan of spanx, before and during her pregnancy period.

Other predicted star is Willow Smith; Will Smith’s nine year old daughter is already a style icon. The Smith family is travelling around presenting Jaden’s latest film, the karate Kid.

We could see Willow and movie star parents and brother showing the world her unique fashion sense in London’s Odeon Leicester Square on Thursday (July 15) and yesterday on Berlin’s CineStar in Potsdamer Platz.

Will and Jada Smith children are already celebrities, Jaden, aged 11 and Willow have already acted in several movies and she is currently working on her debut album. Willow’s fresh and edgy style will make her a style icon in the future, if she is not already.

If there is one person receiving a lot of attention as a result of her wardrobe choices at the moment it is surely Catherine Zeta Jones. In recent weeks it would seem that the star has decided to experiment with her style somewhat and as a result has come under criticism from the media and stylists alike.

The first notable change to the star’s appearance is her dramatic weight loss. Catherine Zeta Jones has always been seen as something of a champion for the more curvaceous woman. She had stunning curves and she always dressed to accentuate these curves and was loved by millions for refusing to conform to LA stereotypes.

However, it would now seem that this has all changed as the star has recently been spotted sporting a much smaller frame than is usually expected of her. In fact some pictures, which are currently circulating of Catherine show protruding bones. Although this is all quite worrying it is thought that the weight loss can be accredited to her appearance in the Broadway show A Little Night Music. Catherine, who is now 40, has been appearing in the show since December, playing the role of Desiree which consequently requires her to dance a lot.

Although Catherine Zeta Jones’ weight loss has taken a lot of people by surprise it is also true to say that her choice in outfits has had a similar impact on many. It would seem that perhaps Catherine is having a bit of a style crisis and is unsure of which look to opt for. Catherine Zeta Jones has been known for her immaculate, sophisticated style and wearing extremely flattering clothes. However, her recent style choices have seen her being dubbed as a serial stalker by the media as she has seemingly been copying the distinctive style of other famous style icons.

In recent weeks she has stepped out in a few outfits which could easily have resulted in her being mistaken as Victoria Beckham. Donning leather trousers, a chauffeur style hat and large sun glasses on one occasion, Catherine was a dead ringer for Mrs Beckham.

What’s more in between dressing like Victoria Beckham Catherine Zeta Jones has been accused of taking style tips from Dita Von Teese. The actress decided to experiment with this look a she appeared on the Today show in the USA. The tailored black and shift dress complete with a red belt could have easily have been something that Ms. Von Teese would be pictured in. In addition Catherine emulated Dita Von Teese’s look further by opting for the pale mysterious look, big red lips and Dita’s trademark wavy hair.

It would that if what the media is anything to go by Catherine Zeta Jones is having a bit of a style crisis and is unsure which route to take. I think it is good to know that even those as famous as Catherine Zeta Jones, who no doubt have stylists at their disposal, get it wrong sometimes and have dilemmas over what to wear, it reassures the rest of us!

It would be fair to say that this time last year Dannii Minogue barely featured on anyone’s radar. Yes she was a well known face but nobody was particularly interested in her. Rather she merely seen as Kylie Minogue’s little sister.

Even when she became on a judge on the X Factor many people didn’t take to her because they saw her as the reason why Sharon Osbourne, a popular figure on the show, quit. After Sharon was replaced on the show by the current judge Cheryl Cole, Dannii was once again overshadowed. Throughout the 2008 series of the show the press and public were obsessed by every move Cheryl Cole made and which designer she wore on each occasion, leaving Dannii overlooked once again.

However, in the past year it would seem that Dannii Minogue has really come into her own. She choose the last series of the X Factor to unveil her new look and stunned everyone with a much more fashionable and stylish look, which left Cheryl quaking in her designer boots. In fact whilst Dannii’ style was spot on throughout the live X Factor shows, Cheryl’s was often hit and miss.

Since the last series of X Factor it would appear that Dannii has grown in popularity and secured her place in the lime light. Since the last series of the show Danni has announced her pregnancy, causing a media frenzy as everyone tries to get the prize shot of her bump. What’s more people are waiting to see if pregnancy will make the star adapt her style. However, any fears that people may have had that Dannii would become dowdy have been firmly dispelled as recent pictures have shown the star looking just as stylish as ever. In fact it looks like pregnancy really suits her as she has been positively glowing in a number of the published photos.

Dannii also recently signed a deal with Marks and Spencer which would see her feature in the high street store’s advertising campaign. If reports are to be believed then the first ad is to be aired on television today. However the media has been inundated with images of the campaign, in which Dannii Minogue looks absolutely stunning.

Danni appears alongside Britain’s next top model star Lisa Snowdon, Brazilian model Ana Beatriz Barros, singer VV Brown and long time Marks and Spencer model Twiggy. However, most notable in the ad is the absence of Mylenne Klass. Mylenne has been at the forefront of several Marks and Spencer campaigns over the years so it was surprising that she did not feature in this campaign. However, it would seem that Mylenne will be used in campaigns to promote M&S Money and M&S Online TV instead.

In recent years the Marks and Spencer adverts have become somewhat infamous so we have high hopes for this one featuring Dannii, and as everything she touches seems to turn to gold at the moment we doubt we will be disappointed.

So with the arrival of the New Year comes the arrival of all the resolutions that people intend to keep throughout the year. For many this involves giving up a particular habit such as smoking, drinking or even eating chocolate. Whilst for others it is all about trying something new like taking up a new hobby but for most of us it is all about changing something about ourselves. We often want to make ourselves into something better and healthier than we are currently are. Consequently January is the peak time for many gyms and health clubs as they see an influx in the number of people who want to join, all in an attempt to stick to their latest resolution and present a new, fitter and healthier person to the world. However, it must be said that all too often these resolutions last a matter of months if not weeks before the majority of us revert back to old ways.

That is why I personally think the best way to implement a change into your life is through your style. It is a much simpler and easier way to ensure you achieve the change that you crave so much but requires much less effort than any of the aforementioned activities.

When it comes to style there are many options and roads to go down which will all end in the same result- a different you. For example you could change your look through the clothes that you wear. However, to be entirely honest this is not something that can be achieved over night as few people are able to afford a completely new wardrobe all at once. Rather this is something that needs to be done over time and phased in gradually.

For me the quickest and easiest route to conveying a new look is through your hair. The simplest of changes to your hairstyle can in fact have the greatest of impacts. For those who always wear their hair straight, why not try adding a bit of texture to your hair by wearing the tousled look, or even opt for curls. This will add bounce and volume to your hair and as simplistic as the change seems it will definitely deliver results.

For those who crave a much more dramatic effect why not try a change of colour. However, in this situation a trip to a hair salon is definitely in order. You need to be sure that the colour you opt for is going to suit you and most hair care professional will be able to help with this matter. Why not follow in the footsteps of Nicole Richie and go from blonde to brunette. A beautiful, rich brown tone will complement the winter months perfectly. However, be warned that only certain skin tones can carry this look off and consequently not all blondes should take this route.

Meanwhile those with long hair might want to consider a shorter do. Tipped to be a big trend this year is the shaggy bob, and with the likes of Victoria Beckham and Dannii Minogue already sporting the look it is certain to be big. However, if the word bob has you panicking don’t worry as you can opt for a shoulder length version of this particular style as Jessica Alba and Diane Kruger have. The shaggy version of the bob adds an extra edge to this particular style, not to mention that it also adds texture and depth to the hair and prevents it from looking lifeless.

For those with short hair who want a change you could perhaps consider hair extensions, but please just not Lady Gaga style hair extensions. Although you may want to keep your hair short as with stars such as Cheryl Cole ditching their hair extensions it is almost certain that short hair is going to be a big trend this year.

However, we all know that even the simplest of changes to our hair can cause it a great deal damage to it so we need to take care of it. It is therefore important to invest a little bit of money in good hair care products such as those offered by Louise Galvin as there is little point in having a great hair style if our hair looks dull and lifeless.

So if you have already broken your New Year’s resolution but are still trying to find ways of creating a new you then why not consider a change of hair style? It is one of the simplest but most effective ways of updating your look and letting people know about it!

So yesterday I brought you the news that men’s magazine GQ has released its annual poll which identifies the top 50 best dressed men. Moreover, I also gave you the low down on who made the top 10 of this list. However, what I did not tell you is that in addition to the best dressed list a worst dressed list was also composed. So if you favourite celebrity is Robert Pattinosn, who was named the best dressed British male, or Daniel Craig or David Beckham, who both also made the top 10 then it is all good. However, if your favourite male celebrity failed to make the best dressed list you may want to pay attention to what I am about to tell you, because if he didn’t make the best dressed list then it is possible that he may be featured on the worst dressed list. So for the male readers amongst you, you may want to take the time to read the following list to ensure that your style icon hasn’t featured within it. If he unfortunately has earned himself a place in this list then you may want to reassess just whose lead you follow in the style stakes and whose look you base your own on.

So here it is, a roundup of the 10 worst dressed men, according to the infamous GQ poll:

Number 10

So the public have spoken and they have decided that Peter Stringfellow is the tenth worst dressed man. To say that this man has his own unique sense of style is an understatement. The owner of Stringfellows lap dancing clubs has earned himself much success over the years but unfortunately that success does not seem to have filtered its way into his wardrobe. Rather it seems that Peter’s sense of style is somewhat audacious and controversial. His most famous fashion faux pas is most likely to be wearing a thong on the beach.

Furthermore, Peter is great fan of animal print and this is heavily reflected throughout his wardrobe with several pictures of this celebrity wearing such prints surfacing throughout the years. In fact it is thought that perhaps leopard print is perhaps his favourite design, having sported several jackets in this design over the years. It has also been noted that Peter has donned a white suit in his time and unlike Dizzee Rascal, who has also famously worn a white suit, Peter was unable to pull it off and also unlike Dizzee he failed to make it into the top 10 best dressed list. However, I will say this for Peter he is not afraid to experiment where others would tend to shy away.

Number 9

Jonny Borrell, the front man of the band Razorlight, has snapped up this position as it seems many think his sense of style is somewhat questionable. Jonny is probably most famous for his love of skinny jeans, white skinny jeans at that, when it comes to his wardrobe. It seems his love of such garments have let him down and put him amongst the worst dressed men in the UK.

He has failed to carry off a unique rock and rollesque look and perhaps he should look to Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys for some inspirational as his rock and roll look earned him the number 3 slot in the best dressed list.

Number 8

The leader of North Korea, Kim Jung-il, has managed to acquire this position within the top 10 worst dressed men. It is assumed that he has achieved this thanks to his love of an anorak and some questionable sunglasses. It seems that perhaps the public’s distaste for this leader’s dress sense extends as far as their distaste for many of his policies.

Number 7

Their knowledge of football may be second to none but it appears that their knowledge of the fashion world is somewhat limited in comparison. That’s right the GQ poll has decided that the Match of the Day team is the seventh worst dressed group of men around.

The team which includes Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer but to name a few have been criticised for their sense of style but I guess we should try to remember that these pundits were footballers before the public became obsessed with footballers and the way that they dress so perhaps they aren’t accustomed to the pressure in terms of fashion which comes with this type of job.

Number 6

Piers Morgan is usually spotted in a shirt and suit when making a public appearance on shows such as Britain’s got Talent and his talk show where he interviews many a famous face. However, perhaps the ad he did for Burger King which saw him sport a loin cloth and only a loin cloth is responsible for his place at number 6 of the worst dressed men.

Number 5

The number 5 position is filled by yet another team of BBC presenters in the form of the Top Gear team. The team of presenters which consists of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond all have their own sense of style but each is equally as whacky as the others. It seems that the team’s sense of style is appears to be set in stone, with none of them apparently trying to experiment or deviate from the style which they currently sport.

Clarkson is often found wearing a pair of jeans, a shirt, complete with a suit jacket, generally a tan cord one and pair of worn green shoes. Whilst James May seems to favour an eccentric shirt perhaps with a floral pattern, a leather jacket and jeans. Richard Hammond opts for a t shirt or shirt under a jacket teamed with a pair of jeans. Perhaps these men should branch out a little and try something a little different, as it comes to something when the best dressed member of your team is the one who constantly wears a racing suit and a helmet!

Number 4

The mayor of London, Boris Johnson, occupies this spot. Despite being top dog when it comes to policies in London it seems he has failed miserably in the fashion stakes and in his ability reflect the stylistic nature that London is supposedly famed for. The mayor is generally seen in a suit complete with shirt and tie in order to carry out his duties, which generally makes most men look sleek and sophisticated. However, it seems that Boris’ inability to look this dapper is attributable to the fact that most of the suits that he wears are ill fitting and leave him looking more scruffy than chic.

Number 3

The French are thought to be some of the most stylish people on the planet but according to this GQ poll, the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, is the exception to the rule. Mr. Sarkozy often opts for a pair of platform shoes in an attempt to make himself look taller, as he apparently has issues with his height. Perhaps the French President should look to his wife, Carla Bruni, for some style tips as she has been branded, alongside Michelle Obama, as one of the most fashion conscious first ladies to grace the planet.

Number 2

The comedian Russell Brand is famous for being controversial and it seems that his dress sense has caused as big a stir amongst the public as many of his ill fated pranks. It would be fair to say that Russell’s sense of style is somewhat unique and very eccentric, somewhat like the star himself. It would seem, based on media images, that Russell rarely strays away from the colour black and it is clear that he favours a pair of skinny jeans and is not averse to showing a bit of chest with buttoned down shirts.

However, Russell has his own sense of style which may be unconventional but it has to be said that Russell is an unconventional star and it makes me wonder if his dress sense was somewhat more toned down than it is would we all find him quite as appealing as he is?

Number 1

Generally the number one position is the one that everyone wants to hold and most people envy the person who does hold it, but in this case that could not be any further from the truth. In fact I think it would be fair to say that most people would do anything not to be named the worst dressed male. So I know you will be intrigued to find out just who that person is and for some of you it will come as no surprise. To say that he is not the most popular person with many seems fair and apparently this not so enviable accolade is just another one to add to the collection of things that people don’t like about him.

The number one worst dressed male according to the GQ poll is none other than Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister of the UK. The Prime Minister’s style is thought to be dull and boring and protrudes a sense of stiffness, with his suits and ties coming under fire. What could be even more insulting for Mr. Brown is that his main rival in contesting his ability to remain Prime Minister, David Cameron, actually made it into the top 10 best dressed list. Although given that many believe Mr. Brown will ousted from Number 10 by David Cameron in the near future I’m guessing his dress sense is the last thing on his mind!

So that is the ten worst dressed men, each of which has their own distinctive sense of style, which some of you may see as a good thing as it means they don’t look just like everyone else. Hopefully your style icon was not amongst the men on this list and if he was then perhaps you should consider finding a new icon.

Presitigious men’s magazine GQ has composed and released its annual list of the best dressed men in the UK. The annual poll denotes some of the most stylish men in Britain, and as such it gives an insight into the trend setters within the male fashion world and who you should be watching in the style stakes.

I know you will be curious to know who made the list so I’ll give you a roundup of the top 10 best dressed men!

Number 10

Hip hop star Dizzee Rascal has managed to make it into the top 10, pipping many to the post to achieve this coveted position. GQ says that he has been featured at number ten as not only is the best rapper in the country but his style credentials as match his musical success. This particular star is not afraid to experiment in the style stakes and is renowned for wearing bright, eye catching clothes.

Number 9

In at number 9 is none other than David Beckham, up one place from last year! The man has impeccable style and taste and is capable of wearing a multitude of different looks. From the casual dressed down look of jeans and a t shirt to a more formal outfit of a suit this man can wear it all and still look great! So it seems that his wife isn’t the only one with a more than adequate sense of style. The only surprise about his appearance on this list is that he didn’t make it further up the list!

Number 8

I have previously noted the growing importance of fashion within the world of politics, although in the past this has only been applicable to the wives of the presidents and prime ministers throughout the world. However, it seems that this is set to change as David Cameron occupies the position of number 8 for the second year running. Although we are used to mostly seeing him in a suit in tie, it is true to say that he generally looks pretty sharp.

Number 7

Most famous for being the being Elton John’s other half, David Furnish retains his position of number 7 on the best dressed list. According to Richard James of the Saville Row Institution it is of little wonder that David features on this list as he says “David has an inherent sense of style, being the classic face of fashion with a sixth sense of what is going to be the next big thing.”

Number 6

Renowned for being sleek and sophisticated both on screen and off screen Daniel Craig slips in at number 6, although that is down 2 positions from last year. Daniel Craig is probably most famous for his role as James Bond and it is seems if this poll is anything to go by that the star is just as debonair as his alter ego in real life.

Number 5

Last year’s number 3, Tom Ford, takes this position thanks to his fantastic dress sense. However, as a designer himself we really expect nothing less of him.

Number 4

The number 4 position is held by a shock, new entry in the form of Fantastic Mr. Fox. Fantastic Mr. Fox protrudes a traditional, quaint essential, old English style complete with tweed suits. However, it is fair to say that not every man can carry this look off and perhaps due to his personality Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of the few men who can actually wear the look.

Number 3

Alex Turner, front man of the Arctic Monkeys has made into the top 3 thanks to his unique style which seems to epitomise British rock and roll. Alex’s girlfriend Alexa Chung, is also famed for her style credentials so whether it is her influence on him and his style which has earned him this position remains unclear.

Number 2

The number 2 slot is occupied not by a man but rather by a group of men in the form of Take That. It seems that there is nothing that these men can’t do. Not only have they successfully relaunched their music career and topped the charts but they are now seen as style icons by men throughout Britain!

Number 1

This much coveted position is occupied by someone who has had a fantastic year thanks to the success of his film career. That’s right the number one best dressed British man is none other than the star of Twilight Robert Pattinson. It seems it’s not just girls that want a piece of this heart throb but also men if this poll is anything to go by. The star embodies contemporary style for men and it seems that this has not gone unnoticed as last year Robert featured at number 39 in the same poll. So he is obviously doing something right to climb 38 places in a year! This guy looks sharp in a suit when on the red carpet and he looks equally as good when dressed down in jeans.

So that is the 10 best dressed men in the UK according to the GQ poll but whether you with that or not or would place the celebrities in that particular order is up to you. However, it is undeniable that each of the men have their own sense of style, some more unique than others, and each and every one has earned their place on the best dressed men list.

Earlier this week saw the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Woman of the Year Awards being held and as this is one of the biggest events of the year for the women of the celebrity world we knew we were in for a treat in the fashion department. With so many famous women, with ready access to designer clothing, all in the same place at the same time we knew we would not be disappointed, and we were right. Everyone there was dressed to impress, and for the most part impress they did!

There was a wide range of famous faces there, all of varying ages and all from different corners of the celebrity world. So we saw a range of styles and tastes reflected in the clothes they wore. However, a common theme that ran throughout the evening was black dresses. A long list of celebrities including Pixie Lott, Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoughby and Dannii Minogue opted for a black dress, and who can blame them as a little black dress never fails to impress. Although it was Fearne Cotton’s LBD which made the biggest impact, she went for a Darling dress, and to be fair it wasn’t the dress that wowed us. Rather it was the way in which she styled and accessorised it, and added her only little quirky style to it. She teamed the LBD with a pair of Vivienne Westwood leggings to create a real impact. This particular choice made her outfit pop and stand out from all the others and whilst the whole ensemble reflected her fun and contemporary sense of style it was still extremely elegant and suited the occasion brilliantly.

However, it has to be said that it was Sarah Brown, the prime minister’s wife, who stole the show as a result of her outfit. Not used to seeing Mrs Brown in anything other than her extremely conservative attire when on duty at events the press went crazy for her. In the past Mrs. Brown has been dubbed dowdy and boring by the media when her sense of style was compared to other world leader’s wives such as Michelle Obamma or Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, but at this particular event she proved them all wrong in their assumption of her. She wore a beautiful floor length, slightly revealing, dress by Catherine Deane, in a shade of green which suited her English Rose complexion beautifully.

In a room full of fashionistas who are featured in glossy magazines on a weekly basis Mrs. Brown should be very that she pipped them all to the post in the style stakes. She truly has proved her sense of style.
