So Kelly Brook wants us all to get on our bikes? Well if all looked as good as she did last week when she supported the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, in his quest to promote Skyride in London, a scheme which encourages people to get out on their bikes, then I’m sure we probably would. Kelly not only helped to promote the campaign but actually participated in it yesterday. However, it wasn’t Kelly’s presence in such a campaign that surprised us but rather the outfits she wore. Last week for the promotion of the campaign she wore one of her trademark flouncy, fifties style dresses and a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes, not exactly the type of thing you would generally expect a cyclist to wear. However, it seems that our surprise has been somewhat misplaced as it seems that Kelly is not the only celebrity to put style in front of practicalities when it comes to cycling. Rather it appears that there is a growing trend amongst celebrities which ensures that they look as good on their bike as they do on the red carpet.
It seems that a Chanel handbag is no longer the latest fashion accessory but instead the must have accessory of the moment is a bike with celebrities such as Kelly Brook, Kate Hudson and Uma Thurman leading this particular trend revolution. The bike has become a fashion accessory in its own right and it seems that the Pashley Princess is the must have bike of the moment amongst female celebrities. The classic feel bike even comes with a basket for that oh so French feel, and as we all know French chic is a key trend this season.
So once the bike has been selected all that remains to do is to choose an outfit which is as fashionable as the bike. It appears that women are glamming it up on their bikes. They are no longer wearing their scruffy, practical clothes and instead they are following the likes of Elle McPherson and Agynes Deyn and maintaining their images as fashion icons, even on their bikes.
So if you want to keep up in the fashion stakes, you need to perfect the glamorous cyclist look!
